GUN BUY BACK EVENT 5-11-2019

GUN BUY BACK EVENT - MAY 11, 2019

On May 11, 2019, the PCAC, in partnership with the Marilyn Goldstone Foundation and the Bridgeport Police Department, helped take over 80 guns off the street.

The Bridgeport Police Department hosted an event at their Community Services building at Sylvan Avenue that offered cash to those who turned in unwanted firearms.

Many people took advantage of this offer in order to turn over guns that they no longer wanted. This ensured that no one else could get their hands on these firearms.

When the event began, there were dozens of people waiting in line, and that line didn't let up for an hour or more. Community leaders including Bridgeport City Council members, the mayor, and Senator Richard Blumenthal stopped by to lend their support.

The PCAC hopes to sponsor even more events like these in the future.
